FAS is the 100% award; FMS is the 75% award. You can check both — start with the one you’re aiming for.

Florida Bright Futures SAT requirements, in plain terms

The Bright Futures Scholarship Program sets a combined SAT threshold for each award level. For the Class of 2027 (2026-27 graduates), that is 1330 for Florida Academic Scholars (FAS, the 100% award) and 1190 for Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS, the 75% award). The program combines your student’s best Reading & Writing section score and best Math section score across timely test dates — a section-level superscore, never a single sitting’s total.

Who this planner is for

Florida families with a Class of 2027 student chasing an FAS or FMS score. Enter the best section scores so far and the planner shows the exact remaining gap and which test dates still count for your student’s graduating class.

What you get

A gap readout, an honest runway assessment, and a written week-by-week SAT plan to the test date — built the same way LearnHaus 1:1 tutoring plans every week: targeted practice, an error log, and checkpoints.

What happens next

The plan is emailed to you and is useful on its own. If you want it run for you, LearnHaus matches a 1:1 online SAT tutor — typically within 24–48 hours — with plans from $399/month.

LearnHaus does not determine scholarship eligibility. Bright Futures eligibility also depends on GPA, service hours, and course requirements set by the state.

How the Bright Futures score calculator works

  1. Add the best section scores

Enter your student’s best Reading & Writing score and best Math score from real SATs, even if they came from different test dates. The planner adds them the way Bright Futures does.

  2. Compare against FAS or FMS

The combined score is checked against the threshold for the award and graduating class you choose (1330 for FAS and 1190 for FMS for the Class of 2027), so you see the exact point gap.

  3. See the runway

Only published SAT dates that still count for that graduating class are offered, so the number of weeks left is real.

  4. Get the week-by-week plan

Based on the gap, the weeks left, weekly prep time, and where points seem to go, you get a written plan by email — what to practice each week, when to take full official practice tests, and checkpoints.

Bright Futures SAT score questions

What SAT score does my student need for Bright Futures?

For the Class of 2027 (2026-27 graduates), Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) requires a combined 1330 and Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) requires a combined 1190. The combined score is the best Reading and Writing section plus the best Math section from timely SAT tests.

Does Bright Futures superscore the SAT?

Yes, by section. Bright Futures adds the best SAT Reading and Writing section score and the best Math section score from timely SAT sittings, even when they come from different test dates. SAT section scores cannot be combined with ACT or CLT scores.

Which SAT test dates still count?

For regular Class of 2027 graduates, qualifying tests may be taken through August 31, 2027. The planner only offers published SAT dates that still count for the graduating class you choose.

Can my student use the ACT or CLT instead?

Yes. Bright Futures also accepts qualifying ACT or CLT scores, and a student qualifies with one accepted exam rather than by combining exams. This planner covers the SAT only.

If my student reaches the SAT score, are they eligible?

Not on the score alone. Eligibility also depends on the Bright Futures GPA, required coursework, approved volunteer or paid work hours, and submitting the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA). LearnHaus does not determine eligibility; confirm with your school counselor and the official handbook.

What about the Class of 2028?

The state lists different, higher SAT thresholds for 2027–28 graduates (the Class of 2028). This planner does not include Class of 2028 thresholds yet, so check the official FAS/FMS fact sheet before setting a target.

Is the planner free, and do I need an account?

It is free, takes about 2 minutes, and needs no account. You see the gap and runway on screen, and the full week-by-week plan is emailed so you have it in writing.
