Why I started LearnHaus
After 7+ years of tutoring students across math, SAT prep, and K-12 subjects, I've seen the same pattern over and over:
- Homework battles and missing assignments. Parents exhausted after work, kids frustrated and shutting down. Missing work piling up, late assignments becoming the norm. Everyone stressed.
- Parents kept in the dark. You hire a tutor, but you have no idea what's actually happening in those sessions. Is your kid making progress?
- Flaky scheduling and inconsistent quality. Tutors who cancel last minute, or worse - tutors who just aren't that good at teaching.
I realized the tutoring industry wasn't built for parents. It was built for tutors to make money. So I started building something different.
What I've learned from 7+ years of tutoring
Kids don't just need explanations - they need confidence.
The students who improve the most aren't just learning the material. They're learning that they can learn. A great tutor helps kids believe in themselves again after classroom struggles.
Parents need communication and clarity, not mystery.
You shouldn't have to text your kid's tutor asking "how'd it go?" every week. You should know - automatically - what happened, what clicked, and what still needs work.
Marketplace-style "pick a random tutor" often fails families.
When parents are left to scroll through 200 tutor profiles, they end up guessing. And guessing wrong costs time, money, and your kid's momentum.
Many kids need accountability and organization support, not just explanations.
Some students understand the material but struggle with follow-through, planning, and staying organized. A great tutor helps build those skills alongside subject work—helping with missing assignments, breaking down big projects, and creating systems that work.

A personal note
I started tutoring in college because I genuinely loved helping people have those "aha!" moments. Watching a student go from "I hate math" to "wait, I actually get this" never gets old.
Over the years, I've worked with hundreds of families. I've seen how much parents care - and how little the tutoring industry seems to care back. That's what drove me to build LearnHaus.
I'm personally involved with our first families. If you have questions, concerns, or just want to chat about your kid's learning journey - I'd love to hear from you.
My promise to you
If LearnHaus isn't genuinely helping your child, I want you to tell me. I will adjust the plan, rematch your tutor, or tell you honestly what I'd do instead. Your kid's success is what matters - not keeping you subscribed.
